Commissioning Outcomes Framework – Engagement Document

The NHS Commissioning Board Special Health Authority is engaging with key stakeholders to develop emerging proposals for the Commissioning Outcomes Framework. This will drive local improvements in the quality of NHS services for patients. Clinical Commissioning Groups, patient and professional organisations are looking at the Board Authority’s proposals for how the Framework can be used to continually improve the quality of commissioned services and reduce health inequalities.

Any ideas for developing the Framework may be emailed to cof@nhs.net

I have three points to make:

    1. Person centred approaches should be at the heart of the framework- whole person and well-being.
    2. The framework should cross-reference with “Making it Real” produced by the Think Local, Act Personal partnership
    3. All health professionals need to selected on and encouraged to develop good interaction skills- the “soft” facilitative skills that underpin respectful and effective relationships. Commissioning needs to specify and facilitate this in all providers.
