Commissioning intelligence report

A draft report and associated model has been published which provides feedback on the results of a large-scale engagement exercise to understand the information and intelligence requirements of emerging clinical commissioning groups (CCGs).

The requirements have been presented in the form of a Commissioning Intelligence Model, which has been developed to facilitate discussions between local PCT clusters, emerging CCGs, Public Health and emerging Clinical Support Organisations (CSOs). It is intended to raise awareness of the broad range of commissioning questions that need to be answered and to show how commissioning intelligence can provide insights into local population health needs and the efficiency of health service provision, inform commissioning decisions and support pathway re-design.

The report builds upon the requirements initially identified in the Commissioning Requirements discussion document published in August 2011.
