NHS Commissioning Board Authority Chief Operating Officer Ian Dalton and Medical Director Professor Sir Bruce Keogh have shared the outcome of the work to agree the geographies that the NHS Commissioning Board (NHS CB) local area teams will serve, as well as the outcome of related work to confirm the number, and coverage, of clinical senates.
The letter, and the accompanying briefing pack which sets out the geographical boundaries, is available below.

The covering letter to this item says that “Roles in the local area teams will be advertised to eligible candidates within the next few days”. I am not sure whether this top level will include the highest level of emergency planning expertise at county level – if it does that exprtise is currently availble in PCTs and I am wondering whether people currently working at that level will be eligibnle to apply for any posts in that first round.
Hi Anthony. Thank you for raising your query.
We are currently recruiting to the first of the local area team jobs. These are the Local Area Directors and they are at the stage where eligible individuals in sender organisations can apply for them. No further roles are being recruited to in local area teams currently but they will follow either in the form of functional transfers or ring-fenced recruitment over the next weeks and months.
You should be receiving information from your employer during this period and if you feel you are missing information I would recommend that you urgently make contact with your HR team.
