The NHS is opening up to health technology entrepreneurs – find out how

NHS England’s Tim Kelsey and Beverley Bryant are holding a morning event specifically for health technology start-up companies and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The event will provide an opportunity to meet the NHS England team and find out how NHS England is supporting entrepreneurs including how organisations can get involved in future events and networking.

The event also offers the opportunity to meet other health technology entrepreneurs alongside organisations looking to work with innovative health technology SMEs and start-up companies.

There will be pitches from active networks who are driving and nurturing innovation in health technology, as well as a briefing on the new Academic Health Science Networks and whether there will be funding for health technology innovations.

A virtual goody bag of free and discounted offers is available for all attendees.

Shouldn’t take long – unless the event is already booked up.

if this is aimed at “health technology start-up companies and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs)” perhaps some consideration should have been given to the cost and effort of said companies, who are not London based, trying to get to London for a 9.00 am Friday morning start.

I trust there are plans for a similar event to be held more centrally or in the North of the country?

      Hi
Apologies for the early start. I know they have a lot to get through though and I am sure that they are looking at these events being held regionally so that everyone has an equal opportunity.
      Regards,

    Hi,

I work for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust which has just received a government award to support the development of new medical devices and healthcare technologies specifically in the area of cardiovascular disease. This initiative has been set-up so that the Trust can work with patients and technology companies to develop new devices based on clinical need.

We are looking to collaborate with companies and I think this would be a good forum for us to meet with possible SMEs looking to work with the Trust. I would be grateful if you could let me know if I could attend this event.

    Many Thanks
    Christine

Clinicians working within the NHS are involved in entrepreneurial activities and I count myself as one. However we also look after patients and calling meetings such as this at short notice means that we are unable to attend!

Please give this consideration next time…….!!
