Two commissioning support units in the north join together

West Yorkshire Commissioning Support Unit and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Commissioning Support Unit are to join together to form one commissioning support unit (CSU).

Alison Hughes, the managing director of West Yorkshire CSU, has recently been leading the two separate organisations, but will now take responsibility for overseeing their coming together to form West and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw CSU. The new organisation will enable the development and improvement of the service to support the delivery of patient care.

The CCGs in each respective area have been briefed and a new leadership structure is planned. The NHS Commissioning Board is working with Alison Hughes and her team to ensure a smooth transition.

This means that there are now 19 CSUs across the country. These will move into their host organisations (NHS Commissioning Board and NHS Business Services Authority) next month. The full list of CSUs is now as follows:

  • NHS North of England Commissioning Support Unit
  • NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Commissioning Support Unit

      Hi Mike
Thank you for your comment. Commissioning support units (CSUs) will provide the supporting infrastructure to enable CCGs to make the right decisions and support them in their commissioning duties.

More information on commissioning support units can be found in our CSU resources section and more specific information about South London CSU can be found on their website.

      Kind regards
