The Commissioning Board is training NHS assessors and panellists who will undertake the desktop review and site visits of CCGs as part of the authorisation process. We would like as many people as possible to understand how this process will be carried out – and what we are seeking to achieve.
CCGs may want to view the attached training videos to give them a better idea of what to expect during the process.
The following three videos have been designed to communicate the purpose, principles and practices of the CCG Authorisation Process overall, the Desk top Review stage and the Panellist Site Visit stage. These videos are being used in the training workshops; the CCG Authorisation Process video provides these key messages in both the Desk top Review Experience Day and the Panellist Site Visit Experience Day workshops and the latter two videos are used in the relevant process specific workshops. The videos available for viewing are:
- The CCG Authorisation Process featuring Dr Sarah Pinto-Duschinsky, Head of CCG Authorisation.
- The Desk top Review Process featuring Dr Julia Simon, London Sector Lead for CCG Authorisation.
- The Panel Site Visit Process featuring Laura Nicholas, Programme Director for CCG Authorisation.
We hope that you find these videos both useful and informative.

Please can you advise if there is still a need for CCG authorisation assessors and if so how one may apply/register an interest for this
Kind regards

Hi Jacquie
Thank you very much for your question.
The recruitment process for lay assessors has been completed, and we have all the assessors we need. However, as the NHS CB develops there will be other opportunities coming up in the future.
Kind regards
Simon
