At the Royal College of Nursing Congress in Harrogate this week, we took the opportunity to talk to lots of people about the ambitions of the Nursing Directorate in the NHS Commissioning Board. There was plenty of interest, and questions about our plans, which is helpful as we design the best structure for our work. At the same time, we asked visitors to our stand in the exhibition to tell us how they would like to get information about the Board’s work. We got plenty of valuable insight from this exercise, which we will use from now on.
Also at the RCN Congress, many nurses, midwives and student nurses signed up to Energise for Excellence. I have been involved with this call to action for a couple of years now so I’m really pleased we have some more new recruits. E4E gives nurses and midwives a range of tools, approaches and measures they can start using straight away to improve the quality of the care they give to people and their families. It also gives you access to a virtual online community where you can share and learn about best practice. Take a look at the website to see the scope of E4E and I hope you’ll feel inspired to join
