Four in five adults have now received their first vaccine

NHS England’s lead for the NHS vaccination programme, Dr Emily Lawson, said: “Thanks to the non-stop efforts of NHS staff and volunteers, four in five adults have now received their first vaccine and almost three in four have had both doses, a remarkable achievement in just over six months.

“The biggest vaccination drive in history, fastest in Europe and most precise in the world has entered the home straight with all adults now able to get vaccinated.

“The vaccine remains our best and most effective defence against coronavirus so I urge everyone to take up the offer when they are invited, and to also make sure they receive their second dose for maximum protection.”
