Equality and health inequalities legal duties
Guidance for NHS commissioners on equality and health inequalities legal duties
This guidance is to support integrated care boards, NHS trusts and foundation trusts, and other NHS organisations in meeting their legal duties in respect of equality and health inequalities.
NHS organisations play key roles in addressing equality and health inequalities; as commissioners, as employers and as local and national system leaders, in creating high quality care for all.
Integrated care boards, NHS trusts and foundation trusts and other NHS organisations should use this document to inform action to meet their legal duties on health inequalities and equalities.
This reference document replaces ‘Guidance for NHS commissioners on equality and health inequalities legal duties’ (2015).
