@NHS from 16/07/18 to 20/07/18
Job title: First contact physiotherapist
I am very proud to work in the NHS. Professionally I have specialised in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy for 24 years, with a particular interest in innovation and mentorship in this area around patient centred care.
I have published articles and presented nationally and internationally on redesigning the care pathway for postoperative total knee replacement patients and direct access first contact physiotherapy in primary care (FCP). I am currently supporting the development of FCP nationally, alongside the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Education England; and have developed a standardised national electronic template to prove the effectiveness, governance and sustainability of the role, and am involved in the national mentorship for emerging FCP models for physiotherapists and other Allied Health Professionals.
I thrive on being challenged and finding solutions to problems. I am very much an optimistic bigger picture person who likes to empower others to achieve. I also enjoy learning, from others. I have been inspired by many people from all walks of life and many different cultures.
