@NHS from 21/08/17 to 25/08/17
Job title: Consultant Transplant & Vascular Surgeon
Place of work: Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
After qualifying from the University of Liverpool in 1997 I completed my house jobs at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, St Georges, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary’s and Great Ormond Street Hospitals.
I underwent Higher Surgical Training in North West London completing vascular surgery training at St Marys’ Hospital and specialist transplantation surgery at Hammersmith, St Georges and Guy’s Hospital.
In the hiatus between basic and higher surgical training, I undertook a postgraduate degree at Imperial College and St Mary’s Hospital and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of London for my MD Thesis in the subject of haemodynamics and blood flow patterns in vascular surgery.
My specialist interests include kidney and pancreatic transplantation surgery (both deceased donor and live related), vascular access surgery and mainstream vascular surgery. In addition I have a wide experience in other general surgical conditions and in the management of complex wounds.
I was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and Transplant Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2011. I am based primarily at Hammersmith Hospital where I provide kidney and pancreas transplantation service and I have set up a program of vascular access surgery for haemodialysis patients – the first of its kind in North West London.
I’m originally from Manchester. I hope you enjoy my week.
