Lucy joined the NHS as a General Management Trainee and then worked at Morriston Hospital in Swansea before moving to Milton Keynes General NHS Trust as a Services Manager.

In 1997 Lucy joined the Royal Brompton Hospital NHS Trust where she held a number of operational and service improvement roles including General Manager, Head of Performance and Head of Modernisation.

In 2010, she took on the Divisional General Manager role for Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust’s Heart and Critical Care division, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and managing a budget of £92 million.

She was also the senior operational manager for the Harefield site, one of the two specialist hospitals within the Trust.

Lucy holds a first class BA honours degree in French and an MBA with distinction.

Lucy has a strong track record throughout her career for leading and developing strong teams to work collaboratively to improve services; and for achieving demanding operational goals sustainably through values-based leadership.

During her time at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lucy has led the development of strong divisional leadership teams at the heart of the organisation who work collaboratively to deliver sustainable improvements to patient experience and the effective running of clinical services.  She also led the trust’s delivery of the most improved waiting times in the country in 2017.
