@NHS from 14/05/18 to 18/05/18
Job title: Prehospital Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine ST5 Registrar
Place of work: East Anglian Air Ambulance (Cambridge), Magpas (Wyton) Air Ambulance and Addenbrookes Hospital (Cambridge)
I am an ST5 Emergency Medicine (EM) and Prehospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) Registrar completing my training in the East of England. I am currently working 50% of my time with the East Anglian Air Ambulance based at Cambridge Airport and the other 50% at the Emergency Department at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. I worked last year at Magpas Air Ambulance and continue to work shifts there. I am originally from the Leicester Royal Infirmary in the East Midlands and will complete my training there next year prior to becoming a Consultant in Prehospital Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
My interests are in modern trauma care and how we, as humans, interact and make decisions in high paced and high risk environments. An important part of human psychology that can help us to engineer systems against errors that naturally occur within complex health systems.
I feel very privileged to do my job and I hope to have a very positive impact on what is often the “worse day in the life” of the patients I meet. My aim is to be able to provide world class health care no matter where the injury or medical event occurs.
