The Provider Selection Regime Policy Webinar – Knowledge Drop

Duration: 1 hour

This session is open to anyone working in a relevant authority who wishes to learn more about the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and how to implement it. Relevant authorities as defined in the National Health Service Act 2006 include NHS England, integrated care boards, NHS trusts and foundation trusts, and local or combined authorities.

In this session, the team provide an overview of the key information regarding the PSR including:

• the aims and scope of the PSR
• what the different provider selection processes are under the new regime, and when to apply them
• key criteria overview – understanding the key criteria that must be considered when arranging healthcare services under the PSR, and how to apply these to decisions
• specific elements and requirements of each process, including what must be done after a decision has been made to award a contract, and how this decision may be reviewed
• modifications and urgent circumstances – the conditions that allow a contract to be modified, and how to award or modify a contract in an urgent situation
• the transparency requirements and the need for robust record keeping under the PSR
• transitional arrangements – how to arrange health care services before the PSR comes into force, and how to deal with contracts that were awarded under the previous regime once it does.

The Provider Selection Regime (PSR) – Practitioner Workshop

Duration: 2 hours

This session is recommended for procurement professionals who will have to arrange health care services, and who are from organisations defined as relevant authorities under the National Health Service Act 2006. These include NHS England, integrated care boards, NHS trusts and foundation trusts, and local or combined authorities.

This workshop will provide an overview of the PSR and a more detailed walkthrough of specific PSR requirements and decision-making processes, including the:

• scope
• direct award processes
• most suitable provider process
• competitive process
• transparency requirements
• standstill period
• contract modifications
• how to return to an earlier step in the process or abandon a selection process
