Accessible Information Standard – Regional Implementation Workshops

Between January and March 2016, NHS England hosted nine regional workshop events to find out how organisations were getting on with implementation of the Accessible Information Standard and to discuss what kind of support NHS England could provide that would be of most use to them.

Each of the events included a presentation from the delivery team at NHS England on the national policy context of the Standard, how and why it had been developed, and an outline of the requirements for providers of services funded by NHS and Adult Social Care organisations.

Representatives from some of the NHS and Social Care Organisations that had piloted the draft Standard also presented details of the lessons learned from their experience of implementation and delegates took part in workshop sessions to inform the development of further guidance and other useful resources.
