NHS England’s stand for 2016 was a central hub of engaging and exciting activity; featuring a mini theatre packed with inspiring presentations, re-charge point for your phones and laptops and brand new for this year, the Workplace wellness pod.
Featuring a quality line-up of presentations, demonstrations and performances, NHS England’s mini theatre showed how NHS England is implementing the vision of the Five Year Forward View, with information on areas including:
- Patient Online
- Maternity transformation
- Living with dementia
- Social prescribing in general practice
- Digital stories from care staff
- Capturing the value of improvement work
- NHS Youth Forum
- Oral health champions in care homes
- Patient choice
- Personal Health Budgets
- Supporting the safe closure of care homes
- Healthy Children: A forward view for Child Health Information services
The mini theatre was also host to the Riversigners Makaton Choir who use signs and symbols to communicate through music, and the Breathe Magic programme which uses training in magic tricks to improve physical and mental health for people with a range of conditions.
New for this year was the Workplace wellness pod in association with Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network, where delegates could find out more about staying healthy and well at work, treat themselves to a free massage and help themselves to one of their five a day. Professionals were also be on hand for further guidance and advice.
A range of NHS England experts were available on the stand over the course of the Expo 2016 to talk about NHS England’s big programmes of work.
iPads and a re-charge bar were available free to use over the two days. The stand also featured two screens showing live feeds from both main stages.
