Specialised Commissioning Patient and Public Voice (PPV) roles

Closing date for current recruitment: 20 June 2021

Patient and Public Voice (PPV) partners play a crucial role in specialised services and are represented through our advisory groups and governance structures to ensure that the views of patients, carers and the public are at the heart of all we do.

Specialised Commissioning is currently recruiting PPV partner roles, all of which can be found below.

NHS England and NHS Improvement is committed to promoting equality and inclusion to ensure that our PPV partners reflect and represent our diverse population. We particularly encourage people from minority communities to apply.

Programme of Care (PoC) vacancies

NHS England and NHS Improvement Specialised Commissioning is recruiting Patient Public Voice (PPV) partners to its Programmes of Care (PoC) Steering Groups.

Specialised services commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement are grouped into six PoCs. Each is a service-based programme reporting into the Senior Management Team of NHS England and NHS Improvement’s Specialised Commissioning Directorate.

PPV representation brings important views, perspectives and challenge into the Programmes of Care. This role is essential in championing the patient, public or carer viewpoint, ensuring the needs of the population are met through the outcomes of the programme.

These are Role 4 PPV positions meaning PPV partners can claim an involvement fee for the position.

NHS England and NHS Improvement Specialised Commissioning is recruiting Patient Public Voice (PPV) partners to its Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs).

CRGs bring together groups of clinicians, commissioners, public health experts, patients and carers. They use their specific knowledge and expertise to advise NHS England on the best ways that specialised services should be provided, and on the development of service specifications, commissioning policies, identifying innovation and improving quality. PPV CRG members are expected to bring relevant lived experience as a patient or carer and an understanding of the needs of the wider patient group.

These are Role 4 PPV positions meaning PPV partners can claim an involvement fee for the position.
