Sustainable Development Unit archive
The Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) was formed in 2008 following publication of the Climate Change Act (2008) to better understand the links between health, healthcare, and climate change. The Unit’s role was to encourage local action on sustainability, influence policy and make the case for sustainable healthcare.
With the launch of the Delivering a ‘Net Zero’ National Health Service report, the new Greener NHS National Programme will now take this work forward, transitioning to a delivery-focused role, responsible for all aspects of the NHS’s work on climate change and broader sustainability.
