The NHS in London has announced Cedi Frederick as Chair at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

Cedi Frederick will be replacing Dr Peter Carter, who has been the Trust’s interim Chair since February 2019.

Cedi Frederick has been a non-executive director at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust since April 2017, and was previously a non-executive director at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

Commenting on the appointment, Sir David Sloman, Regional Director for the NHS in London said:

“Peter brought a range of skills and experience from his work across mental health and nursing. His positive mark on the Trust is evident and I wish him well for the future.

“Throughout his career, Cedi has committed to improving local health in his work across charities, business and the NHS. I am delighted that he will be taking up the position of Chair from next week. With Cedi bringing invaluable experience to the role, I believe that North Middlesex University Hospital will continue to deliver the best possible care for patients under his watch.”

Maria Kane, Chief Executive of North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, said:

Cedi has a wealth of experience gained across several sectors, including neighbouring Trusts, and I have had the pleasure of working with Cedi in the past and really look forward to working with him again. He has good knowledge of our local area and the population we serve.

“I would like to thank Dr Peter Carter for taking on the role of interim chair since February 2019 and for his wise counsel in leading the Board during this period.  He has done a tremendous job and we wish Peter all the best for the future.”

Dr Peter Carter said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as interim Chair. I have had the pleasure to meet many staff and patients across the Trust delivering impressive services for the patients of North London. I wish Cedi Frederick well in his new role”.

Cedi Frederick will take up the role of Chair at North Middlesex University Trust on 7 October 2019.
