Sir Amyas Morse appointment as Chair of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

NHS England and NHS Improvement in London is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Amyas Morse as Chair of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2021.

Sir Amyas will continue in his current role as Chair of The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Sir David Sloman, Regional Director of the NHS in London said:

“Sir Amyas will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to this significant role at London North West University Hospital.”

While the Trusts remain as separate entities with their own boards, this move will help to further underpin and develop the partnership and collaboration between our two organisations. This partnership will ensure that we work as part of a broader and co-ordinated system for the communities we serve in North West London.

The current Chairman of LNWH, Peter Worthington, is stepping down from his role.

In welcoming Sir Amyas, Peter Worthington said:

“It has been a privilege to serve the patients and staff at LNWH Trust since 2013 and, particularly, to work alongside the Trust’s non-executive, executive and clinical leadership. On behalf of the Trust Board, I welcome Sir Amyas to LNWH and his appointment will build upon and accelerate the closer integration of planning and service delivery needed across the North West London sector.”

Dame Jacqueline Docherty, Chief Executive at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is retiring at the end of the current financial year. The process for the appointment of her replacement is underway and Sir Amyas will lead the new appointment process.
