Information on NHS services in London over the Easter Bank Holiday

This Easter weekend, Londoners should stay at home in line with Government guidance. By staying at home, you will be helping to save lives and protect the NHS.

If you do need medical help this weekend, please follow our advice:

If you or someone you live with has coronavirus symptoms (high temperature and/or a new continuous cough):

  • Stay at home and visit nhs.uk/coronavirus for health advice and guidance on isolation.
  • Please do not go to your GP practice, pharmacy or A&E.
  • If your symptoms worsen, or you feel that you can’t manage at home, please visit the NHS111 online coronavirus service. Only call 111 if you can’t get online or you’ve been told to do so.
  • Remember that 999 is for emergencies.

If you or people you live with don’t have coronavirus symptoms and you think you need advice from a GP practice or pharmacy for a health concern:

GP services are available this weekend. If you need to talk to a GP or nurse about something other than coronavirus:

  • Contact them online or by phone to be assessed.
  • If an appointment is necessary, you’ll be advised of the next steps. Your appointment may be at your own practice or at another nearby service.

If you need advice from a pharmacist that isn’t related to coronavirus:

  • For minor medical problems, not related to coronavirus, many local pharmacies will be open and  are able to help this weekend – although their opening times may be different. Check the opening times for pharmacies in your borough of London here:

If you need medical help for coronavirus, please do not go to a pharmacy. Stay at home and visit nhs.uk/coronavirus for information and advice.
