The NHS People Plan 2020-21 sets out national health and wellbeing policy ambitions to enable our system stakeholders to create a culture of wellbeing, where our NHS people are cared for. Our vision is that Health and wellbeing conversations are intended to be supportive, coaching-style one-to-one conversations focused on looking after the wellbeing of all our diverse NHS people. This will include the holistic wellbeing of the individual (i.e. physical, mental, emotional, social, financial, lifestyle, safety, learning, contribution etc.) to identify areas where the individual may need support, signpost them to that support, and monitor their wellbeing over time.
In order to enhance the implementation of our wellbeing conversation we are looking for staff to volunteer to help us bring these conversations to life and most importantly, share with us what it means to them. We would like to video these sessions and promote them across our systems.
We are therefore asking for your assistance in this Call to Action. In order to ensure that inclusivity and diversification is baked into this process we need your help. We would like to engage with different NHS employees from across our widely diverse backgrounds which include protected characteristics BAME / Disability / LGBT+ for example but also across the multidisciplinary (Nurse/Doctor/AHP/Clerical etc). This diversification will bring a richness and depth to this work.
Could you therefore:
- Approach any staff members who you believe would be interested in volunteering and
- Cascade this message through your networks who could then ask staff to get in touch with me directly.
