  • Nominate an in-house lead to manage the process.
  • Talk to the CCGs ahead of you in the process.
  • Spend time on your Make‐Buy‐Share decision.
  • Investigate who you could collaborate with – you can procure services with as many commissioners as you want, at the same time, to get the best value for money.
  • Make sure your specifications are really good quality and they take account of how much flexibility you will need for any in-year changes.
  • Get good references from past clients of potential new providers.
