Following a successful first event in March 2017,the Maternity Transformation Programme have confirmed that there will be a second large stakeholder event to mark the two year point from the publication of Better Births. A wide range of stakeholders have been invited to attend the event, from local, regional and national organisations, representing many of those who have a part to play in transforming maternity services.
‘Better Births Two Years On: Personal & Safe’ will be held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Tuesday 27 March 2018 from 10:00 – 16:00 and will be chaired by Sarah-Jane Marsh, the Chair of the Maternity Transformation Programme Board.
The objectives for the day are to:
- Showcase the changes being made to maternity services now through our Early Adopters, Choice and Personalisation Pioneers; signal that wider-scale change is starting to happen through the work of Local Maternity Systems; and share the successes and progress made by the Maternity Transformation Programme since March 2017.
- Set out the expectations and priorities for the programme and for local stakeholders over the next 12 months and beyond.
- Engage with stake holders to ensure they are clear on what they need to do to help deliver Better Births’ vision.
A series of workshops will run which will cover the important areas of Safety, Investigations, Finance, Continuity of Carer and Workforce. These will include examples of how things are working at a local level, showcasing where there are great initiatives and allowing shared learning throughout the event.
