Monday 20 March to Friday 24 March was a dedicated week of action to raise awareness of the new employer led model of midwifery supervision, A-EQUIP.
A-EQUIP (advocating for education and quality improvement) is the name for the new employer led model of midwifery supervision which is currently being tested by a number of pilot sites across England. A-EQUIP is a continuous improvement process that aims to build: personal and professional resilience, enhance quality of care for women and babies and support preparedness for appraisal and professional revalidation.
The A-EQUIP approach aims to ensure that through staff development, action to improve quality and experience of care, becomes an intrinsic part of everyone’s job, every day, in all parts of the system.
During this week of action a number of blogs from a range of organisations who have helped to build the new model of midwifery supervision for England were published, along with tweets and social media conversations (@6CsLive using the hashtag #A_EQUIP) to raise awareness of the model ahead of the launch early April.
