NHS England has responsibility for appointing chairs and non-executive directors of NHS trusts and chairs of integrated care boards (ICBs). This function is manged by the Senior Appointments and Assessment Team. The team also offers a range of support and advice including best practice, induction and development, appraisals and governance issues.
