Stay Well This Winter

Simple Steps to Keep Older Relatives and Friends Well This Winter

Over the past seven years there has been a three-fold increase in the number of older people admitted to hospital with respiratory illness.  There are some simple steps we can all take, to help keep an older relative, friend or neighbour fit and well this winter. Help us to help you.

  1. Stock up their medicine cabinet
  2. Make sure they keep warm
  3. Make sure they stay connected with friends and family
  4. Ask their GP or practice nurse about a ‘rescue pack’ if they have an existing lung condition
  5. Don’t spread germs – stay away if you’re ill
  6. Get pharmacy or GP help straight away if they’re unwell – or call NHS111
