Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme Impact Analysis

Publications Gateway ref: 05529

NHS England has produced an Impact Analysis of implementing the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme.  This document supports the investment in the provision of services for 2016/17 until 2020.  It is important to note that the analysis was produced in February 2016, prior to the completion of a procurement process which put in place a framework of national providers.  Therefore it uses potential cost scenarios, rather than actual costs.

The Impact Analysis presents evidence of the expected costs and benefits of the service available at the time it was produced.  The modelling which informs and underpins the report was undertaken by the University of Sheffield’s School of Health and Related Research department.  That team continues to develop the model and will be updating it to reflect new evidence about costs, developments in modelling and other significant learning from the NHS DPP.
