The PLICS Data Validation Tool (DVT) Business Rules document lists the validations that the DVT uses to test the National Cost Collection submission files. Validations are categorised as ‘Submission Failure’, and ‘Warning’. All submission failure rules must be cleared before the files can be submitted to NHS Digital.

This website version of the NCC integrated workbook is in the same format as the SDCS version, which will be available once NHS Digital make the collection live. Please ensure that when you are ready to make a submission, you use the SDCS version as this website version isn’t compatible with SDCS. There is a section for activity reconciliation on the memorandum tab which is still to be confirmed – we will release an updated version of this workbook as soon as possible with that information included. This doesn’t impact the mandatory elements of this workbook. We will release the workbook user guide shortly. Date published 3 August 2021.
