This suite of specifications includes the overarching, physical health, mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, substance misuse, and dental and oral health specifications.

These have been refreshed with the companion Healthcare Standards for Children and Young People in Secure Settings, which were published by Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in May 2023. These standards aim to ensure all children in secure settings receive excellent care that is responsive to their needs. The healthcare specifications are intended for use by commissioners in procuring healthcare services that meet these standards.
