NHS England and Monitor are inviting expressions of interest to join a working group which will consider and advise on issues related to the reimbursement of specialised services and complex care. This group is being convened to coincide with work commissioned from the University of York to update the analysis it has previously conducted on estimating the costs of specialised care.
We are seeking a broad cross-section of interested and relevant stakeholders who can provide constructive feedback and guidance on issues related to existing funding arrangements for specialist and complex care, including specialist top-ups and the broader payment system. We would be particularly interested in hearing from individuals who:
- Possess a reasonable level of policy and/or technical expertise in healthcare payment systems or costing
- Can balance representing their particular sector while considering the payment system as a whole
- Interested in improving the reimbursement for complex and specialised care within the NHS
We expect the members to meet approximately every 4-6 weeks over the coming 6 months, with the first meeting occurring on 19th March 2014 in London.
If you are interested in joining the group, please submit a cover letter outlining your interest and experience/expertise to firstname.lastname@example.org. A draft terms of reference for the working group can be found on the Monitor website.
