NHS England invites expression of interest from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) service providers to participate in a pilot project to test and refine needs based CAMHS currency groupings for a period of 24months.
In October 2011, The DH PbR team (now the NHS England Pricing Team) commissioned a consortium of academics and service providers to develop a currency for CAMHS.
The aim of the CAMHS project was to develop needs-based currencies (groupings) for children, young people and their families, taking into consideration criteria such as clinical meaningfulness, ability to identify instances or periods of care of similar resource use, reflecting service user need and reliability of identification.
The CAMHS Payment System Project concluded on 30th April 2015. Following data analysis and extensive stakeholder engagement, nineteen needs-based groupings aimed at covering the full range of CAMHS provision were developed. The final project report was published in June 2015 and is available on the CAMHS website.
CAMHS service providers willing to participate are invited to submit their expression of interest to email@example.com.
