Confirmation of the National Tariff Payment System for 2016/17

NHS England and Monitor have published the 2016/17 National Tariff Payment System, which comes into effect on 1 April 2016.

This year’s national tariff aims to support the NHS to restore financial balance, maintain quality and begin the wider service redesign needed to ensure future sustainability.

Update on the National Tariff Payment System 2016/17

The statutory consultation on the 2016/17 National Tariff  has now closed.

We can confirm that the statutory objection thresholds have not been met. NHS England and Monitor are currently reviewing all of the responses with a view to publication of the 2016/17 tariff which will offer stability for the NHS. We will continue to keep you updated as the process develops.

National Tariff Payment System 2016/17: a consultation notice

NHS England and Monitor have published proposals for the 2016/17 National Tariff Payment System.
The national tariff proposals aim to support the NHS to restore financial balance, maintain quality and begin the wider service redesign needed to ensure future sustainability.
NHS England and Monitor would like to hear your views on:

  • the approach to setting prices for 2016/17
  • the impact of the proposed changes to the national tariff
  • the proposals for local payment arrangements
  • the approach to enforcing the national tariff

The consultation period ends on 10 March 2016 – this is last day for submitting a response.
