The Atrial Fibrillation High Impact Intervention Tool is an interactive dashboard that aims to support local health systems to measure the value of identifying and treating patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF), including the impact of screening and treatment-based interventions.
An Atrial Fibrillation High Impact Intervention Tool User Guide is also available.
Developed in collaboration with Imperial College Health Partners, the tool uses Quality Outcome Framework data and prevalence estimates to help local health systems to create realistic business plans for treating AF. It helps users to estimate the budget impact of interventions, creating an exportable business plan to be used locally.
This tool builds upon the work on AF that has taken place across England by the AHSNs, Public Health England, the cardiovascular clinical networks, the national charities and many local health systems, and the work taking place in pilot CCGs as part of the Atrial Fibrillation demonstrator site programme.
Health systems, supported by their RightCare Delivery Partner, can use this resource as a framework for their local improvement discussions.
