Learning Disability and Autism

The South East Learning Disability and Autism programme focusses on improving health and care services so that more people with a learning disability and autistic people can live in the community, with the right support, and close to home.

Building the Right Support, which was published in October 2015, set out what needed to be done to make sure these changes happen. In particular, it aimed to reduce the number of people receiving care in hospital by providing suitable accommodation in local communities where individuals can live with the support they need or be helped to move back home.
