South West Medical Directorate

The role of the South West Medical Directorate (core team) is to manage the performance, conduct and capability of primary care performers (GPs, dentists and optometrists) and the appraisal and revalidation of GPs in the South West. This function includes the maintenance of the National Performer Lists (Medical, Dental and Ophthalmic), and consideration of applications to these lists.

The South West medical directorate is based in different offices but work as a team across the whole of the South West. Members of the team all have particular roles, but provide cross-cover if any of them are away.
