Resources to support Local Maternity Services (LMS)

The national maternity programme team have developed a resource pack for Implementing Better Births. This is designed to help Local Maternity Systems lead and manage their local transformation. It provides guidance on implementing the recommendations of Better Births that require local action, and describes national policy that will support implementation.

The next date that Local Maternity Services are working to is 31 October 2017. By this date they should have a vision and outlined delivery plan for transforming local services in line with Better Births.

The regional Programme Board will be asking Local Maternity Services for updates towards this key milestone through highlight reports to be received at the end of June and end of September. This will be coordinated through the Clinical Networks and your Maternity network lead. The Maternity Highlight report is straightforward and easy to complete when linked to the delivery plan.
