Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine
You can access Patient Group Directions (PGDs) for COVID-19 vaccines here.
National Protocols
New ‘national protocols’ have been introduced in response to the pandemic as legal mechanisms for administration of Covid-19 vaccine, and also influenza vaccine. These offer greater flexibility than a PGD by allowing tasks to be delegated to unregistered staff.
PGD templates available in Microsoft Word format
Please note that the Microsoft Word version of the PGD templates that all of these PGDs were authorised from are available here.
Emergency preparedness
Emergency preparedness
Authorised emergency preparedness PGDs (e.g. for flu outbreaks in care homes) are available on request. Note that these would normally be authorised by the Commissioner of the service, so please contact your ICB Medicines Optimisation Team if necessary.
