Heaven set to be first nightclub vaccination centre

This Sunday (8 August) London’s famous Heaven Nightclub will be converted into a vaccination centre offering jabs to any Londoners over 18 who are yet to be jabbed.

The vaccination pop-up will be open from 12noon to 9pm and can be found under the arches on Villiers Street, a short walk from Charring Cross Station and Embankment tube station.

Londoners can walk in to receive their vaccination, and bookings are also available through Eventbrite.

Jeremy Joseph, Owner of G-A-Y & Heaven said: “It’s been really exciting to welcome back customers to the dance floor but I want to make sure we are keeping everyone safe. It is important we all do our bit and encourage each other to get vaccinated – not just because you might soon need a vaccine passport to enter nightclubs, but because we want everyone to party safely. So here’s your chance – we are opening Heaven up for a vaccination day so now you have no excuse. Protect yourselves, protect your nightlife and Get Vaxxed @ Heaven.”

More than ten million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given to Londoners, and over 60% of Londoners aged 18-29 have received at least one dose.

Dr Vin Diwakar, Medical Director for the NHS in London, said: “We’re calling on all those who haven’t been vaccinated to come forward to protect themselves, which also helps protect their friends and their families against this virus, so we can continue to enjoy London’s attractions, safely.

“It has never been easier to grab a jab in London and vaccinations at Heaven nightclub are just one of the ways that the NHS, partners, and businesses are creating more convenient ways for Londoners to get vaccinated.”

Joe Nguyen, Westminster Borough Director, added: “We are delighted to be working with Heaven Nightclub to get more people vaccinated. There are many nights out to make up for, but let’s do it safely – join us on Sunday and Get Vaxxed @ Heaven.”
