ICB chairs confirmed for London
We are pleased to confirm that the following have been appointed as chairs of the Integrated Care Boards in London, following approval by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
North West London ICB and North Central London ICB:
Mike Bell
North East London ICB:
Dame Marie Gabriel CBE
South East London ICB:
Sir Richard Douglas
As Deputy Chair, Dr Anne Rainsberry CBE will cover Chair responsibilities for South West London ICB whilst a process is undertaken to confirm substantive arrangements, led by NHS England.
Dame Caroline Clarke, Regional Director for NHS England in London, said: “ICBs have a critical role to play in the future of our NHS, improving population health, reducing inequalities and ensuring access to high-quality care.
“I’m pleased we’ve been able to appoint experienced and talented chairs to lead our ICBs in London. I look forward to continuing to work with them as they build on the significant progress they have already made to realise the ambitions of the 10 Year Health Plan and make London the best global city in which to receive health and care services.
“I would also like to thank Paul Najsarek, outgoing Chair of North Central London ICB, and Anita Charlesworth, who has been carrying out the role of Interim Chair of North West London ICB, for their leadership and the lasting difference they have made for our communities, patients and staff. To help take forward delivery of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan in London, Paul will be taking up an important role leading the delivery of neighbourhood health services and Anita will provide leadership on health innovation in the capital, so I am delighted that the NHS in London will continue to benefit from their expertise.”
With ICB chairs in place, CEOs and other leadership roles will be confirmed by individual ICBs. Click here for more on ICB clusters and wider NHS reorganisation across England.
