Collecting prescriptions in Amesbury

NHS England is aware of some patient concerns around delays collecting prescriptions from Boots in Salisbury Street Amesbury, due to the extra demand there while the second Boots store on Stonehenge Walk is temporarily closed during the police investigation into the poisoning of two Amesbury residents.

Boots have extended their opening hours at their Salisbury Street pharmacy to 6.30pm throughout the past week and from Monday 23 July will open for an extra sixteen hours including Sundays. These hours are;

  • Mon-Fri 08.00-20.00
  • Sat 08.30-17.00
  • Sunday 10-16.00Boots staff from the Stonehenge Walk store are working in the Salisbury Street pharmacy to help with extra demand and are changing how they work including the layout of the pharmacy to store additional medication for the increased number patients collecting prescriptions. A national Boots manager has visited the Salisbury Street pharmacy this week to review the impact of the changes and this is being kept under review.There are other pharmacies in the area: the nearest alternative is Lloyds in Durrington (2.5 miles away). There are also pharmacies in Salisbury, Tidworth and Ludgershall.

    Lloyds Pharmacy in Durrington have confirmed that they have  taken on  more staff to deal with extra demand.
