East of England passes 3.5 million booster vaccinations landmark

More than 3.5 million people across the East of England have now received their covid boosters or third primary dose to protect them and the people around them from Covid-19.

Ruth Ashmore, director of commissioning and executive lead for the vaccination programme for NHS England and NHS Improvement East of England, said:

“It’s fantastic news that over 3.5 million people in the East of England now have greater protection from Covid-19, helping to keep them, their loved ones and their local community safer from the virus.

“Our brilliant NHS staff and team of volunteers continue to work hard, day in, day out, administering lifesaving vaccinations to the public in the East of England region.

“I urge anyone who has not yet had their first, second or third dose to get vaccinated as soon as possible, as the vaccine is one of the best ways to stop the virus spreading.

“Getting vaccinated also helps reduce pressures on the NHS, as being vaccinated increases protection from becoming seriously ill from the virus.”

Every eligible adult can book in for their lifesaving jab online at www.nhs.uk/covidvaccine or call 119 to guarantee your jab.
