NHS England’s response to the King’s Fund report on London Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships

Regional Medical Director for NHS England (London Region) Dr Vin Diwakar said:

We welcome this report which will make a useful contribution to the way that London’s NHS and our partners in local councils, the Mayor and Public Health England are working together. Our partnership has achieved many of the aims that were set out in our last strategy “Better Health for London”, published in 2014, particularly in areas such as mental health, survival from cancer and heart disease, and school readiness.

Work is already underway to update our vision which will build on our success but we want London’s vision to be created by Londoners. The Mayor has made an important contribution to that by creating his Health Inequalities Strategy. Londoners tell us that they and their families want care which is coordinated and seamless regardless of which organisation or person delivers it, they want that for their children, for working people and for the elderly.
