Appy Easter: Midlands residents order >12M repeat prescriptions in 2024 with NHS App
NHS England is encouraging Midlands residents to use the NHS App to access NHS services over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend
The NHSApp can be used to request repeat prescriptions. During holiday season this is useful especially if people are away from home. Health experts advise requesting prescriptions at least seven working days ahead of when the medicines are needed.
This is a popular feature amongst Midlands residents, with over 12 million repeat prescriptions in the Midlands during the last year.
The NHS App can also be used to access NHS111 online for those who think they need urgent care. By answering a few simple questions NHS111 can direct the user to a service that’s right for their needs. This is helpful for people on day trips who suddenly feel unwell and may save a trip to A&E.
Other features of the NHSApp include viewing patient records and managing and making appointments.
Those who haven’t yet downloaded the App can do so via their usual app store. They’ll just need to answer a few simple questions to verify their details with their registered practice.
The NHS App is also a simple and secure way to receive messages from your trusted health care providers. Users are reminded to turn on their notifications for the NHS App in order to stay up to date.
