Northern Greener Week

2–6 June 2025

Join us for Northern NHS England Greener Week — a virtual celebration of the innovative and impactful work happening across the North to support a Greener NHS and achieve our collective ambition of reaching Net Zero by 2040. Registration is now open via NHS Events

Now in its second year, Northern Greener Week is a collaborative event led by NHS England North West and North East & Yorkshire, in partnership with regional Nursing and Midwifery Teams. Taking place online from Monday 2 to Friday 6 June, the week will spotlight the projects, partnerships and people leading the way in embedding sustainability and climate resilience across healthcare.

What to expect

Northern Greener Week is designed to empower and enable healthcare institutions and staff to embed sustainability in everyday practice — for the benefit of the NHS, patients, staff and the wider community.

Throughout the week, you can expect:

  • Real-world case studies from NHS organisations already making an impact

  • Insight from sustainability experts working alongside the NHS

  • Practical, scalable ideas you can apply in your own setting

  • Interactive Q&As to ask questions and share reflections

  • Opportunities to connect with others driving change across the region

The aims of the week are to:

  • Celebrate successful and ongoing green and sustainable initiatives

  • Share best practice and create space for collaboration

  • Support anchor approaches, evaluation, and system-wide learning

  • Enable networking and peer connection across roles and organisations

This is your opportunity to reflect, learn, and work together to accelerate positive environmental change in health and care.

How to register

All events will be held virtually and are open to NHS staff across the North. Each session will be bite-sized (45 minutes) and recorded, so you can attend live or catch up at a time that suits you.

Registration is now open via NHS Events
