About NHS North East and Yorkshire
The Health and Care Act 2022 Act introduced landmark changes to how the NHS in England is organised. It supports collaboration and partnership-working in order to promote integrated care and build on existing work to join up services.
NHS England in the North East and Yorkshire supports four intergrated care systems – partnerships of NHS organisations, local authorities, charities, the voluntary and social enterprise sectors and others to improve the health and wellbeing of local people within their local places.
We support healthcare commissioning and delivery and provide professional leadership for finance, nursing, medical and specialised commissioning. We also play a key role in the assurance and delivery process of NHS provider orgsanisations. We offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable.
We want everyone to have greater control of their health and their wellbeing, and to be supported to live longer, healthier lives by high quality health and care services that are compassionate, inclusive and constantly-improving.
