NHS Parliamentary Awards 2024: South East regional finalists announced

The national shortlist for the NHS Parliamentary Awards 2024 has been announced today. Shortlisted nominees will now go forward to the final stage of the awards, with the winners in each of the ten categories being announced on Monday 14 October 2024.

The NHS Parliamentary Awards were created in 2018 to celebrate and recognise the outstanding contribution of staff, volunteers and others working in the health and care sector. The Awards also provide an opportunity for health and care organisations to engage with their local MPs, tell them about the work they do, and build and strengthen their relationships.

In total, there are ten award categories this year which cover exceptional care and health innovation right across the breadth of healthcare services, as well as acknowledging the inspiring individual contributions of staff, including the Lifetime Achievement Award which celebrates those who have worked in the NHS for 40 years or more.

MPs were invited to nominate healthcare teams and individuals in their local constituency. South East MPs put forward 118 nominations across the region – the highest number of nominations received in any year since the Awards began. These nominations were shortlisted by a regional judging panel, with one regional champion in each category going forward to the national shortlist round of the awards.

Anne Eden, Regional Director NHS England South East said:

“Each nomination demonstrates the immense commitment and achievements of teams and individuals working in the South East every day to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care. I congratulate all our regional champions, and wish those who have reached the national shortlist good luck for the national awards ceremony on 14 October. Thank you all for all you do.”
