Surrey Child and Family Health launches on 1 April

From 1 April, children’s community health services in Surrey and North East Hampshire will be called Surrey Child and Family Health. The service was previously known as Children and Family Health Surrey.

Surrey Child and Family Health will deliver health visiting, school nursing, and specialist services including school-age immunisations, children’s therapies, specialist nursing and developmental paediatrics.

The services will be delivered through locally based Healthy Family Teams, made up of a range of healthcare professionals including health visitors, school nurses, and therapists. This integrated service will ensure children, young people and families receive the best possible care.

To make it easy for families to get in touch about getting the support they need for their child, the service has a single phone number: 0300 247 0025.

There’s also a brand new website, surreychildandfamily.co.uk, that gives the new clinic locations, information about the services, and useful advice and support for families.

In addition, a specially designed app gives parents and carers easy access to child development milestones, emotional health advice, support for dads, and more – including a handy interactive map to help find local GPs, dentists, pharmacies, and so on. It also has a messaging function young people can use to get confidential health advice from the school nursing team.

Surrey Child and Family Health is provided by HCRG Care Group, the UK’s largest specialist NHS community services provider. Pat Birchall, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re focused on providing person-centred care that’s accessible. That includes using digital technologies to enable families to interact with the service online and our plans for the future include introducing a web-based appointment booking system.”

Children’s community health services in Surrey and North East Hampshire and Farnham, will be delivered by Surrey Child and Family Health on behalf of NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board (ICB), Surrey County Council and NHS England (South East).
