ICB Cluster Chairs confirmed
As integrated care boards (ICBs) move towards leaner ways of working in line with Model ICB Blueprint, some have agreed shared leadership arrangements to support the progression of their transition plans. Clustering arrangements have been agreed by NHS England and by ministers.
Following approval from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, NHS England has confirmed that Ian Smith will become the chair of Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board and Sussex Integrated Care Board.
Chairs of clustering ICBs have been appointed following a ringfenced expression of interest process. Start dates will be determined locally.
Priya Singh will remain as chair of both Frimley and BOB ICBs as they form a cluster arrangement. There will also be no change to chairs at Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB and Kent and Medway ICB where Lena Samuels and Cedi Frederick will remain in post.
ICB chairs will shape future ICB leadership arrangements and are working with regional directors to progress transitional arrangements for chief executives as soon as possible ahead of making appointments.
