Daghni Rajasingam appointed as NHS England’s South East Regional Medical Director
Daghni Rajasingam will join NHS England’s South East Regional Executive Team as the new Regional Medical Director later this year.
Daghni will take up the role at a critical time for the region. As Regional Medial Director, Daghni provide clinical leadership across the South East to deliver the 10 Year Plan for Health, with a particular focus on reducing health inequalities.
She joins with extensive national, regional and local experience. Her previous roles include Lead Regional Obstetrician and Medical Director for Secondary Care Transformation within NHS England’s South East Medical Directorate. Daghni has held these roles alongside her current role as Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Christopher Tibbs will continue as Acting Regional Medical Director until Daghni joins the regional team.

Daghni is a consultant obstetrician with an interest in maternal medicine. Currently, she is working Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust as Clinical Director of maternity services and joint perinatal lead.
She will continue to work one a day week at Guys and St Thomas’ from July 2026 when she joins the regional team to maintain her clinical practice.
